If you have neither the time nor the inclination to take regular exercise, then walking may be for you. It has many advantages; it costs nothing, and is very convenient-you can walk anywhere, any time you wish. You can set you own pace, depending on the reason why you are walking and your stamina.
Walking is the ideal way to relax body and mind. It can be a way of sightseeing, exploring you local environment or places further a field. It can also be social activity, with friends or family, or a way to appreciate the beauty of the countryside. Since most of us send the majority of our time indoors or in cars, walking outside not only provides us with essential fresh air, but also helps to clear our minds.
Finally walking may inspire you to do longer rambles and hikes, either alone, with friends or I special groups with other walking enthusiasts. Moreover, it may stimulate you take other forms of exercise.
Walking need not be confined to the daylight hours; a stroll on a fine evening is often highly enjoyable. Some people walk before their evening meal stimulate their appetite, while others walk after a meal to help digestion and the rid themselves of that ‘stuffed’ feeling that comes from having eaten a heavy meal.
