I have to put a lot of strawberries to good use over the next couple of days. We've been sorting the berries that need to be used right away and the ones that can wait for a few days. There are some that look pretty rough so I am going to use them to exfoliate my skin. The seeds help exfoliate dry skin. I've used them before but the cost of food has gotten so high so it's been a long time since I used berries for skin care.
Clean and hull a dozen large strawberries. Cut them up into small pieces and place them in a bowl. Mash the berries. Transfer the mixture to a blender.
Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. You can also use sunflower seed oil, grape seed oil, almond oil...whatever light oil you prefer.
Add 1 tablespoon kosher salt. You can use any coarse salt you have, I happen to have some Kosher salt on hand.
Blend all of the ingredients thoroughly. If you don't have a blender, you can do this by hand, it just takes longer.
Smooth the strawberry mixture over skin in a circular motion. Rinse it off with cool water.
You can store the leftovers in the fridge, just label them so nobody eats it. It wouldn't kill them but it wouldn't taste very good. You can keep this for a few days before you have to throw it away.
right, skinlastin have benefis for your skin :)
ReplyDeleteThis is something we can try, but isn't it costly? I've heard that brown sugar can be a good element for exfoliation too.
